Lowered and radiused the shelf . Cold forged random pattern on piece of mild steel to replace the sight plate. JB weld filled the holes.Pondered about the color , settled on hammered finish "gun metal" . more pics this weekend after the "lipstick and rouge"

you are a man of many hidden talents my friend bd
Thanks bd, not my best , but I learned from my experiments. Have new ideas for the sight plate but need another A Mag....
Hey Chad if you need more practice can I send you mine?LOL.
Sure Felix, I enjoy refinishing them. PM me if you're serious...the sight plate idea is a forged "wizard face"..
If then I can exchange a pleasure,I am always serious buddy, you have a PM.
Chad,
Your really doin a great job there. Looks great.
Be careful Felix, when Chad calls in a favor it's never an easy one.
God Bless, Pierre
Very nice job. I like the color. Inquisitive. Why did you do away with the adjustable metal side plate?
WOW, I like the shelf idea!! VERY COOL.
Wanna sell it? HAHA.
Orion, I did away with the plate because it was easier to fit the forged replacement sight plate without it . I guess I could have ground down the sight plate at the bottom and still fit the the plate but figured leaving it closer to center shot is what I prefer anyways. That's why I "need" 3 or 4 more to play with ....
 thats a tough lookin style. Cant wait to see more Sir..
Thats cool Chad, Now I want one of those to play with also. Thanks!
Thanks guys, I need to get in the forge and play with the "wizard face" sight plates...maybe next week. Those Mags are just plain workhorses..
Your forged sight plate replacement and JB Weld fill in is a great idea!!! Opens up some good options. Thanks!! Very Nice Work......
Here's a "prototype wizard face" idea (http://i797.photobucket.com/albums/yy259/elizipper/DSCF2588.jpg)
