Post by: Bjorn on February 19, 2011, 01:07:00 PM
Does anyone do stickers for these?

It is 54# perfect for me; although I have not strung it

It has 2 holes-easy fix

The epoxy from the arrow keeper is a different story

Personally, I would not refinish this bow, or any other Jack Howards unless one is an expert at sanding the type of glass Jack used. The glass is prone to slivering and one can wreck the bow.

If it were me I'd leave the bow as is and just enjoy it. Those holes can be filled with epoxy and that place where an arrow holder was place can use just a couple coats of polyurethane.

Otherwise the bow looks to be in good shape. Am tryint to put together a list of serial numbers, specs and ownership of Jack Howard bows. Would you mind telling me what the serial  number is on your 54# Gamemaster Jet?

F 429 is the serial number. The poundage listed is 54#; but it feels like more-57 maybe. It is less than a 60# bow I used as a comparison.
Those are good suggestions Kelly...............no hurry anyway.
I shot the bow today and found it to be an accurate smooth shooter, and very quiet too and a heavy riser!    :bigsmyl:

Jack Howard hung his bows from a scale that was zero'd out for the masss weight of bow thus everyone is about 3# heavier than marked.

I'll look at my list tomorrow to give you an approx year it was built. They are excellent shooting bows, very smooth, quiet and accurate. Go ahead and use that bow just the way it is-it still has a lot of kills under its paint!  :)

BD... I'd love to see you get after that Jet. Might be more awesomeness than a man can bear.

Near as I can figure out you Jet was built in mid to late 1970's like 1976-77.

Anyone else wishing to send me serial numbers and specs if you do know the date of manufacture please include that. Seems these bows changed hands dramatically so very few are still in the hands of original owner or with warranty card.

What I do know is F-96 is from later 1960's like 1968-69; F-154 is from 1972; F-601 is from July 1984; F-626 is o March 26, 1985; F-776 is from July 1989; F-841 is from July 1994; and F-883 is from July 10, 1996.

Jack made his bows in two groups per year. Some years there would be 50 bows in each group, some years more and some less.

I was told that F-946 was Jack's last Jet. But now I have an individual that has M-947 and I have no clue why the M because all the rest of Jets had an F.
