Like a few others have indicated, I've a yen to hunt with some equipment from the year I came kickin n screamin into this world.
Looking for info for ID (photos?) on 1952 broadheads.
On arrows whittled myself out of the Osage / Bamboo bow from Joseph.......I'll be good.
Ive got a Lafonds Lightning (flinch)and know Pearson had a few versions then but no photos of the "non" barbed ones or model numbers.
Any help is appreciated.

It was about that time for Glenn St. Charles "Mickey Finn" head...but he may have come out with that one in '53...not sure. With his recent passing, the MF would be a good one.
Thanks guys. The Goshawk I had completely forgotten about and dont think I really ever knew the years they were sold and the St. Charles head also is close enough for whom it's for. November 1952.
The years things were "made" are highly unlikely to start Jan and end Dec and "years" are generalities....at least to me.
It would be an honor to go afield with one for sure.

what about a 1945 Glenn StCharles Thunderbolt broadhead ???? I shot a black bear with a 1953 Glenn StCharles Mickey Finn broadhead a couple years ago.Was cool to see(with a well placed shot) those old broadheads seem to work as good as the new ones do bd

Since Ive never HEARD of the Thunderbolt.....Id guess that the prices are a bit MUCH since his first edition broadheads.

The modern Ace Standards have an improved tip (three thicknesses instead of one) but are pretty close to the 1954/59 edition.

Absolutely great list, Ron and totally accurate that I only know a few of them but with help from you all....when I do find things......if on the list it helps and my reason for asking.
Sticking with 2 blade (single blade) heads still being sold new in 52 and commonly used then and doubtful if the rarer (odd balls to me) will be of much interest.
Yep, big list there and wayyyyyyy out of my area of expertise.

I pulled that list from the master list via a search. I just looked again and none of the Lafonds show 1952 on the list, in fact the earliest shown is 1955. However...I know you are the Lafonds expert so if I missed something please let me know. Does the master list need to be corrected?

It is a worth while goal to pick a year and hunt with tackle from that year. I did it using 1962 gear.
I just figured you might what to know just how encompassing that year was. I wish I could post a picture of those heads but that would take awhile to put together. There are books that have them. Maybe the author will get in here.

The Lafonds is (TO ME!) not much different from a lot of heads even made today.
I wasn't aware of the multiple versions. Knew of the "ripper" style and the standard.
