I am going to have to piece these pictures up throughout the evening as I am home alone with the kids helping with home work etc... I picked this up from a fellow trad gang member who bought it at a local auction. It's believed there was only one owner of the bow prior to that auction. You'll love this one. Some fine things come in worn packaging. More pics as the night goes on.

It's going to be a long night Colin.
I'm anxious to see more!!
I am tuned in!
We got the math homework done, the dishes washed, and the hot wheels picked up. Here's 2 more. Ohio's Mr. 1959 (the infamous Kenny Yoder) is at my door right now. If I can keep him from running off with it I will post more pics later. I am saving what I feel is the best for last.
The tip looks much whiter in the picture than they actually are. They are slightly yellowed and the original paper. The tips are in fabulous shape.

Beautiful bow. I've only kept two Grizzlies, a '62 and one very similar to yours. Wish I'd kept a particular '61. But, the '59 is my favorite one ever, 55#@28. I hope yours shoots as good as this one.
Nice bow with a great hunting weight
That Butcherblock '59 is SWEET!!
NO stress, NOTHIN wrong with that bow. From what I can tell it is all original and as new with a slight discoloration in the leather. We held my refinished '59 next to it and the green glass is slightly yellowed on Colin's Butcherblock. I left there with my Beautiful bow and slightly Pea Green with envy.
NICE find Colin!
Nice Bow!!Wow
WOW. That is bad arse!!!
Great Score and Truly Unique!!
I am drooling here.
Thank you all. Also, I am thankful it seems to pull lighter than marked. Feels more like 50 @ 28" to me which is fine as I will be able to shoot it more. It's a super quiet bow.
Kenny and I will have to have a few days this fall afield with "dueling '59's"
Beautiful Bow. Wow!!
Can you string it and show some full length pics of each side??
Here you go!It came with what appears to be the original string from 1959. The one on it here is a newer string. It's a fine shooting bow.

That's a great looking Grizzly and you be one fortunate man. Should be a real pleasure to take to the woods.
Oh, That is Very Nice!!!! Hard to believe it's over 50 years old. Looks like NEW....... Great Find!

I don't remember seen any marked at 27" usually 26" or 28".
Mike
One of the most beautiful bows I've ever seen. Just incredible.!!!!!
Living in small town USA.....the 59s are the one grip styles Ive never held in my hand, let alone shot. Definately great looking bows. Fred did himself proud.
I've seen a few at Compton etc.......never had the cajones to ask someone to let me shoot one. Has to sound "odd" to you long time Bear buffs, lol.
Probably a good thing from the pos feedback ya'll give them shooting em. Ive enough problems deciding on what to hunt with. :D
That one is a beauty!! Congrats!
God Bless
Steve, if you're at Comptons this year, look me up. You can shoot a couple 59' Grizzlies.
Colin, that is a remarkable example.............not the usual specs, butcher block riser, and perfect condition! Must have been made for someone special! You should tear the leather grip off and see what might be written underneath! Great find!
I love a 59 Grizz. Mine should be here this week.Rich redone her for me. Can't wait. You got a awesome bow rght there.<><
Thank you for the compliments. The wind died down so I may take it out back today and shoot it a bit.
I know what you mean Bjorn but I don't have it in me to take that grip off. I think it's original.
