Ran into an old friend last night who had purchased an old Louie Armbruster Zebra "Grevy" longbow. He was asking me what the dark laminations in the limbs were.
I thought possibly bubinga but wasn't sure.
Anyone know for sure?
Charlie someone had another thread up asking about Loise bows on here somewhere. He may have some info I'd love to find out more myself bd
Charlie and Doc, the Grevy that was bow tested in the old Longbow Shooters Digest had three maple and two bubinga lams with green glass. Don't know if that was the make-up of all "Grevys". Hope this helps.

Thanks Shick.... On investigation I found that it wasn't uncommon for Louie to use a lam of bubinga and one of purple heart.
The bow I inspected has maple action wood also.
I'll have to inspect the bow more closely next week. Didn't have my glasses with me this week.
