I just came across a tamerlane that appears to be 1971? It has the brass coin and the serial number is KA1290. It is 70" AMO.
I have seen 69" and 63s but not a 70". 38# draw and is in really nice shape except for the aftermarket sight that was drilled through the riser. It has a Bear flipper rest and they put a hole the other direction through the bow bow just below the coin. Does the serial number tie it to a particular year and are there many 70 inchers out there?
Hard to say from just the serial numbers. Both 1970 and '71 were offered in 70" lengths. Both standard with magnetic arrow rest, with the '71 model adding a Berger button.
Both also came with socket for the Bear/Jeffery omni bowsight witch was an option. It sounds like yours was drilled for a different sight though.
So without Berger button, I'd guess you have a '70 model.
I think they made a 72" Tamerlane as well?
K serial numbers , I think, were from the 70's. The serial #'s of the 60's Bears, begin with the digit of year.
I don't have my own computer with me, to tell you the sites, but Bear bow dating information is discussed on Bear historical/collecting sites.
Sorry I don't have the sites handy, but a simple google search is all you need.
Is there a pic of the magnetic arrow rest or the Berger button? I think that may be the setup. The arrow rest says Bear on it and the hole comes out right through the rest like a plunger device should go there.
Any pics of the Jeffery -Omni sight? I saw another one of these bows on **** that was drilled exactly the same way.
Here are some pics

A pic of the only "ding" I see on the bow.

The omni sight in the catalog is similar to yours, but the base mount is contoured to fit the riser with no gap. it came with extension and elevation bars, along with different apetures.
That PC isn't online, so cant get pics up.
But now we know your '71 is all factory drilled.
Keep an eye peeled for the berger button and omni sight. Probably wont be cheap $ though.
I have a 72" that looks the same. It has the same rest but no through hole for a button. there is a short button that can be adjusted from the rest side. anyone know if those rests are still available, its the only thing keeping me from shooting it regular.
