Title: Bear T/D latch leather
Post by: inrut on December 05, 2010, 02:57:00 PM
For those who have replaced the leather on Bear T/D latches. Did you use leather that was self adhesive? (ie: bow saddle) I have a set of latches that I'm re-painting and the leather needs replaced. I'm just wondering what is the best way to do this. I suppose any thin leather and contact cement would work. Thoughts?

I used barge cement and scrap handle pieces with good results.
The important thing would be to get the leather thickness just right to get a good snug fit and still lock the limb in.

Inrut- The Bear "leather" pads on the TDs weren't exactly leather but Bowdoc may be able to tell you where to find a set.   GY
