What do you guys do, other than string sileners, to quiet your Kodiak Mags or other vintage recurves?
Play around with the brace height a little and heavier arrows that are properly spined.
yap brace height and arrow weight I personaly like to use brush buttons on all my recurves also bd
With wool puffs, around 8" brace height, and 10gpp arrows my Kmags are very quiet.
Generally the vintage bows are very quiet and respond easily to brace adjustments, fur silencers and arrow weight. No fancy stuff needed.
Thanks for the info. I need to raise the brace height. My arrows are already making the weight.
I use balls of sheep's wool. Works better and lasts longer than the rubber whisker type (in my experience). Brace height will make a big difference and I try and get mine as low as possible for maximum cast, but I will give up some for quiet.
Every kind of silencers I have used on my KMags are been able to silence those bows.
food for thought ? I'd try brace height first.Every time you add any weight like silencer brush buttons what ever to your string it slows the string down a little tiny bit.To much stuff can cause more problems bd
I found using Cat Whiskers, heavy arrows, & staying within Bears suggested brace height did wonders for my Super K.
