Post by: kuch on October 12, 2010, 07:46:00 PM
Does anyone know a bowyer that would make limbs for the 76er &/or minuteman T/D? i have these bows and would like a pair of limbs "just in case " the 30+ year old limbs want to give up the ghost. thanks.

I think your best and cheapest option would be to buy another 76'er for a source of spare parts.

i was told that the minuteman limbs do not fit the 76er riser ,as the limb angle is slightly different and the thickness of limb differs. I like the minuteman limbs much better .Tried Mike , no go.

no go ,said he did have the set up for that type of takedown system. i am NO bowyer, but these are the simplest design to my eyes. I shot the minuteman and the 76er( both 50# ). these are seriously underrated!! very consistent, under $100 , easy to refinish....that's why I would think with brand new"modern" limbs these bows would run with most .

I have both A & B handle 76ers. B is set up with "Custom Heavy" 45# limbs = 41# measured; A is set up with "Custom Ext-Heavy" 50# limbs = 56# measured. These limbs have what looks like an extra 1/16" to 1/8" wood shim on the front side of the limb, which makes it non-interchangeable with the other rizer. Likewise, the other limbs are too thin to fit the A rizer well.
The minuteman (I don't have one, but am watching for a deal{steal})has tapered limb bases which required yet another model of the metal strap which recieves the limb base, the major difference between all of these rizers.
One odd side note, I also have an identical B rizer with compound wheels on the ends of the (supposedly) TD limbs. Only one I've ever seen. Natchly, hadta have it.
I'm not really a collector, more a shooter/accumulator & even tho Bow #22 is enroute here even now, most were <$50 & 6 were free, and come to think of it, that's actually counting 4 compounds & a crossbow, so really only 17.
...just my 2 cents...rvdv
