Just started shooting the 73 Super K. I know Im shooting high because the riser puts the arrow farther above my hand than the more modern bows. Anyone know a way to counter this other than physically modifing the riser?
Try raising the nock on your string, very little; should lower arrow impact.
Are you now 1/4" above level with the high point of your rest?
Are you shooting off of a rug rest or raised rest?
nope I never found a way to correct to much difference and I personaly believe the closer the shelf to your hand works better well works better for me.You can adjust your knoc a bit and see how it works however if I am plannng on keeping the bow I use a hacksaw bd (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/bowdocsarchery/super001.jpg)
I'll try raising the nock point and see what happens
Do like Fred Bear would do and shape the shelf to your liking. You'll find those bows shoot alot better the closer you get the arrow to your hand.
It's tougher shooting multiple bows when the risers are cut differently. If that was your only shooter, your computer between your ears would offer the necessary corrections in most instances.
Doc's right. He's lowered 2 and is lowering a 3rd for me now. The difference is amazing.
