Will the older 60" Bear bows handle a 29" draw? Or, will there be a lot of stacking and finger pinch? Thanks in advance.
A 29" draw should be no problem with the 60" bows
You bet they will...even 30".
After attending Rod Jenkins class last year, I managed to increase my draw almost 2" to right at 29". The 58" Bears are no problem and I have little problem with the 52" magnum.
That 48" Super Mag is a different story and it's tough to reach past 28" with that model.
The 60" Bears are my favorite being great shooters and probably the overall fastest bows from Fred.
Thanks guys. Because of your info, I just bought a nice looking 71-72 Kodiak Hunter from the classifieds. Really appreciate the info! :D
Any recommendations for a bow quiver?
If it has the insert try one of the Bear 4 arrow quivers that has the spring arm on top and mounting bracket for the bottom mount.
Mike, no inserts. What about a limb mounted quiver. Any particular model that works well with the 71-72 Kodiak?
Selway will work with all of them. Quieter and lighter than any of the old Bear quivers.
All 71's would have had a stab bushing. Your new bow might be a 70 or earlier. They were options to 70 then in 71 they all got them.
It was my misunderstanding. I was thinking of inserts on the side of the riser. There is a stabilizer/fishing reel mount on the front if that's what you are referring to.
That is what we are refering to. The cool vintage quiver is the single spring arm. There is a little bracket that mounts to the stab bushing that the quiver clips into with a spring arm on top. The four arrow, in my opinion is the best.
71 should have a flat coin and 72 should have the raised button.
Wow,
That bow is perfect for a nice classic back quiver.
i have a kodiak magnum and a black panther hunter.my thunder horn boa strap on works on them and also on my black widow plv longbow.they are a bit pricey, but they are versatile and of high quality.
One of these quivers

I'll bet those are impossible to find! I'd love to find one in the 4 arrow model.
Look hard, they are out there. One of the guys here found one for me.
