Title: 60" vs 64" in a Kodiak
Post by: Migra Bill on March 02, 2010, 04:11:00 PM
Picked up a 57 Kodiak in 64" and 49# from a fellow tradganger in the classifieds here. All my kodiaks before this one have been 60". I recently noticed that I am shooting my 62 and 64 inch bows much better than my 60 inch bows. So I wanted to give a 64 inch Kodiak a shot. Hope I like it.

What do you guys think about the 60" vs the 64"?
Is one a better shooter? Is one more "rare"?

Bill,

I have a couple '57's in 64" and really love the way they shoot, but I believe most folks want the 60" since it's a bit more rare, more convenient to hunt with,  and some even say faster.  My '66 Kodiak in 64" is really smooth and I shoot it better than the shorter bows.

BTW, I tried to get that '57 but you beat me to it. It looks like a nice one and was priced right too.

Bill, I think the 64-66" bows shoot and draw much smoother and more pleasant to shoot. I, being on the short side do much better with a 58-60" bow. the longer ones get in my way in tree stands and the brush. I think most collectors shoot 60" because that is what Fred Bear shot most always. You got a real nice bow there. Gary

I think they all shoot great the longer the bow the smoother to draw. The longer bows have better cast but are not nearly as fast thru a shooting chrony as there shorter brothers.I believe personal choice comes into play a lot bd
