Title: Kodiak 11 string
Post by: TVAfishing on February 25, 2010, 09:14:00 AM
Anyone know what the string length for a 60" @ 46# Bear compass Kodiak should be? How many strands of B-50 should I use?
Thanks for any help!!

Terry

I would sat 56" actual length and 14 strands. Some people think you shouldn't shoot the Kodiak II's but hopefully the experts will chime in here and give the real scoop on that.

56" and 14 sounds good I shoot both maple and a walnut 60" K-2 they scale around 48# bd

This one looks to be in really good shape with very little crazing or stress cracks, would it be a mistake to shoot it? If there is a chance of damaging it maybe I should try to sell it,I have a problem hanging one on the wall and not being able to shoot it once in awhile, unless it is very rare. Doc, what brace height would suggest to start with ?

Thanks for the info, Terry

If Bowdoc shoots them,I would go for it.I'm not sure about brace height.

I'm no expert and do not even have one, but have read those stories that drilling out the hole for the compass weakened the riser and caused some to break.
