Title: Kodiak Hunter
Post by: Shleprock on January 30, 2010, 01:57:00 PM
Is there something that makes a Kodiak Hunter more valuable based on a KT serial number?  I know serial numbers can mean alot.  There is one on fleabay right now that is at $405 and there is 1 day plus on the auction.  I have a KT.  Just wondering?

I have never heard of anything special about the serial numbers on the KH.   I looked at the bow you mention, about the only thing I see that would bring a higher price than average would be the fact that it is 55#'s.  It has the 'converta-accessory sticker' still on it, but the overall condition looks to be average.  Auction fever maybe?

Yes,the average price for those is around the half.

Two that catch my eye are the 67 model and the tigerwood 69 model both 55# or above, oh and LH so that really narrows it down for me.

The ones in weights above 50# seem to be bringing more but there is nothing special about that bow besides the weight.  Another thing I've noticed about the 70s "greenies" is a lot of guys are searching for bows from their birth year and that age group applies to a wide audience on these forums.

Maybe birth year or #55 a couple people sure want that bow.  Kinda makes a guy wish he could tack his along with it.  I love mine, but I could probably part with it for that kind of money.

I can't understand the interest on that bow as there was one NIB for less money that ended today without a bid. Is it just me or does something seem fishy?

600 for a KH I just do not believe that and think maybe theres something funky going on there.Maybe the brother in law is falsely running the price up on that one.You could get 3 of those models for that price.........somethings fishy bd

Guys- don't forget, this is a somewhat dangerous thread due to the location of the bow auction.I apologize for bringing that up. That being said, you're liable to see anything there, price-wise. I don't spend much time around there these days but it seems to be more and more erratic though it may be just inexperienced buyers. Like what happened to Felix- confirmed is committed and its always a "pig in a poke."  GY

I have a 60# KH, early 70's, I think, that I would definitely part with for $200, and I would rate it as a "9" on the usual scale.
