I have a 57 60" 51@28"I LOVE the way the bow shoots but I HATE low grips.Very smooth, stack free draw to my 28" draw.
This is a 56#, 60" 1957 Kodiak RH. He says no stress, no holes, no twisted limbs... 230385087131
I'll trade mine for a 59-62 kodiak or grizzly.
One of Bear's greatest shooting bows. Unfortunately, the limb tip laminations were made out of some sort of impregnated cardboard and were prone to cracking or delaminating altogether with age. I have repaired a few that did not have major tip failure beforehand. 59 was the only year Bear did this. The years 58 and 60 were glass tips. If I had to choose only one I would go with the 1960.
I have a 57 Kodiak which I like and shoot well. I use a stringer to brace it-the recurves are really deep and I think that the limbs could be twisted easily.
I've had no problems with the tips, but it probably only had a dozen arrows through it when I got it. The story is it spent most of its life in a sleeve in the closet. Still had the factory string until I made a Flemish twist for it.
The biggest issue I've had with it is I don't like to shoot it much because it is in such good shape!
