I have a vintage Bear Take Down black hard plastic bow case..the foam is shot..any ideas on how to replace it? thanks
Joey, I don't have a brand name, but a friend got me some air conditioner filters that were gray foam approx 3/4" thick; about 15" long and 12" wide. Spot glued them in the case and has worked out fine. Hope this helps.........Shick
walmart used to have the eggcrate foam. thats where im checking first for a case i just bought.you might try there. also i have seen it at lowes you might try there also if you have a store nearby---joey
The original foam has a habit of disinegrating over time.
I replaced mine with a heavy foam that worked out good.
If you can find someone that has an original bax for the take down bow and use the inside as a template to cut out the foam...worked for me.
Thanks Guys for the advise..i think i may can get soemthing to work from your advise
I bought a sheet of 1/8 thick foam from Mcmaster Carr.. One layer in the bottom, the second layer had the cut outs. A little spray adhesive to sandwich them.
I don't have the case any more, but I think I still have some of the foam.. Not sure if there is enough, but it wasn't expensive.
When I sold the case to a big time collector he told me it was the best repair job he had seen. If that means anything
