Title: The fat lady is humming...
Post by: zwickey2bl on January 29, 2007, 02:13:00 AM
Our season closes Jan. 31. I went Saturday afternoon, saw no deer, one red fox trotted by right at dark, heard a doe blow at him when she caught his scent but I never saw her. I really wanted one more meat deer before it's over, but it's not looking good. I might get to go Wed. morning for a couple hours. Weather is cold for NW Alabama, supposed to be about 18 tonight. End of the season is always a bit sad... long time till next year, and wishing I'd gotten out more this year. Ah, well, time to make arrows, go through gear, look for bow bargains in the classifieds, and make plans for next year. Hope you all had a good year.

I am in the same boat. I plan to hunt every afternoon until the 31st.

Yesterday I walked all afternoon on 7 Mile Island Mgt area scouting for the month long hog hunt in March. I found plent of hog sign and some really  great places to hunt deer next year.
