Cody,

Adventurous Bowmen by Saxton Pope was first published in 1926. About hunting Africa with the longbow. Lions in the Path was also published in 1926 and was written by Stewart Edward White. White was a rifle hunter who accompanied Pope on the hunt. Pope, of course, wrote a book from the eyes of a bowhunter and White wrote from the perspective of a rifle hunter. Pretty rare books and expensive. I would think you would have to pay @ $300+ per book if they were in decent shape. Good luck with your search. I have not read either book.

Cody, you can find the books your looking for on this web site;http://www.abebooks.com/ The price depends on whether you want a reading copy, a 1st edition, or a signed copy. Good luck.

Cody,

Earlier today I mailed you first edition of "Adventurous Bowmen" and a reprint of "Lions in the Path". They were shipped book rate, so may take a few days to arrive. Both are for you to read, then return when you are finished.

Please be very careful with the "Adventurous Bowmen" as it is in nice condition and is signed, but you are sworn to secrecy not to mention to anyone who signed it.

In 1982 I loaned this book to Floyd Eccelston as he had never read it. He returned it with a nice note, which I still have.

When you have finished, it will be interesting to read your comparison of the contents of the two very different books.

I don't want to influence you before hand, so I will post my brief synopsis of the two books after we hear your book reports.

Of course, with great men like Wade able to loan you the books, no need to purchase. Awesome job, Wade! The generosity of the members on Tradgang never ceases to amaze me. Good day to all! Cody, enjoy the read.
