Can someone tell me anything about a Bear Grizzly serial number 29CH118....it is 60" 47# painted camo but don't know if it's factory paint (don't think so but all the decals are visible ) thanks ; Doug beartrax44@msn.com
might post some pics to help.
I don't own the bow yet...but I'm thinking about buying it..if I do buy it , I'll post the pics....thanks beartrax44@msn.com
A 60" Grizzly? Grizzlys have a AMO of either 62", 58" or 56" depending on the year. If you measure from tip to tip the 62" AMO you will get 60" so I presume yours is a 62" AMO. The 62" also had a leather grip. Bear made their Grizzlys 62" AMO between 1949 and 1963. If you can see the decals and they look like silkscreens, not wet transfer decals, then it's after 1955. If these silkscreens are over the camo, chances are it's a 1961.

I was wrong on the length, it is 58" and 48#....it appears to have a silver coin medallion, has some patent numbers then the word Canada with 1953 under it ....I'm looking at a few blurry pictures that were sent to me...thanks for the info Simon beartrax44@msn.com
Well then if it's a 58", the bow is a 1964 and up. Since the serial number does not start with a K it is before 1970. Sorry I can't narrow it down more than this. 1964-1969. Pics will eventually pinpoint the exact year.

That serial number shows that it is before 1966, when the serial number started with the year of manufacture ('66, '67, '68, '69) 6, 7, 8, 9. If the logos, serial number, patent info, etc is on top of the camo, it's likely a factory camo job. Apparently a '64 or '65.
May be some beautiful zebra wood under that camo 64 Griz
Trap
I have a "64" Grizz - 29CM97 / 58" / 45#.
Beautiful Zebrawood riser. Buy it and strip it !

I have one exactly like Sheppard's
Sounds like a 1961 grizzly, I think they were all a factory camo.
