I can get my hands on Loctite 495 here at work. Has anyone used it on there bow repairs? I looked on loctite's site and the only differnce I have found on it is that is strength is a little less then the 420. 420 is 2900, 495 is 2750. and the 420 is a wicking type plastic bonder where as the 495 is general purpose
495 dries slower..bd
Thanks doc, not disputing you but the spread sheet shows it the same as the 420. Is that your experince with it, just asking ? I dont want to use it if it will cause me problems
I would think a slower dry time would be benificial...or it would be for this slow old man.
Tom I.
whoops maybe 495 fills a larger gap and does not wick as well as 420.I gotta look now.bd
Wicking is the key, I think it will run into a gap of about .0015 (Half a hair)
That means it will run "Into" the crack and not lay across the top.
Go to McMaster Carr and buy it on line. (accept no substitutes)
