Guys- Woody called me yesterday afternoon to tell me that my favorite one-piece bow, a 1970, 68# Super Kodiak, had arrived at his house to be used on the Pig Gig hog hunt next week. The only problem was that the top limbe was fractured. I'm bent. I had it insured and all that but this bow was kinda special. Bowdoc has altered all my bows and this one was perfect. I can't believe she's gone. If any of you guys know where I can get ahold of another '70 around 70# please let me know. I'm gonna go cry some more and get on with it. Thanks, Grant
:( What happened Grant? Was the box crushed? I'm sure it was packed well.
Sorry to hear the news, Trap
:( + = :banghead:
What a bummer Grant, I feel for ya. That insurace money can never replace it. :(
Grant - My deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to you at your time of loss.
I fully understand your desire to accelerate negotiations on my dead mint, unshot, "Double 70" (1970 – 70#). If you are willing to double your 4-figure cash/trade offer, I am certain we can reach an amiable arrangement.
With deepest sympathy,
Wade
Just kidding of course, about doubling "your 4-figure cash/trade offer". As I mentioned yesterday, you have first shot at the "Double 70", if and when the need arises.
Thanks Wade- and everybody else as well. The bow was packed about as well as you can pack one and still afford to ship it. I also had it inside one of the old SuperK cases. Woody said the top of the box was crushed. I was pretty sad about the whole deal- still am. This was one of those bows that sort of gnaws its way into favorite status and I'd been shooting it pretty exclusively for a while. Bowdoc had my favorite riser in the early season and I took a couple of deer with this one and it just sort of grew on me. It was probably the hardest shooting bow I've owned in a good many years. Wade, talk to me about the 70-70, how many rubles will it take? HELP MEEEEEE! Sorry guys, I don't usually mourn publicly. Grant
Holy crap that sucks the big one....bd
If you can't mourn here, where else??
Sorry to hear about her untimely demise.
Kurt
Grant - When you get back from your hog hunt, we'll talk about the 70-70. I want you to see it, to make sure you want it, before we finalize any deal. If you want it, the bow is yours, if you give me a replacement bow of the same year and condition, in any weight, and some agreeable compensation for the difference between the novelty of a 70-70 and what ever weight bow you offer in exchange.
What horrendous news!!! :scared:
I am so sorry about your loss
Joe
Thanks Guys. Wade, I'll get to looking for a good one. I can usually find them in the 45-50 pound range- it is the heavier weights that just seem to pop up now and then. I will enlist the aid of everyone I can think of to find a really nice specimen- or I'll just pay a primo price for the bow.I'm a bit nervous about shipping anything right now. I'll talk to you soon, Grant
Grantster the best I could come up with right now is the 58#er I mentioned to you yesterday.I will keep an ear open this week and see what we can come up with....bd
Grant,
Sorry to hear about the bow in shipping !! Keep your chin up partner things will work out.
