Howdy all,
I have a great looking 62" Bear Grizzly with green glass with a serial# 20BL148. Looks like a silver or pewter coin??? Is it a 1968? Anyway, the string that came with it was 59" and came out to a brace height of 6". I know that is too low so what length flemish twist string should I get? Should the brace height be around 8"???? Thanks in advance for the help on all of the questions...
Chalk
7 1/2"-7 3/4" brace is about right. Your string may well be correct, see if you can raise the brace by twisting. A 59" string is typical for a 62" recurve. Got any pics of the bow? The 62" Grizzlies are great shooters.
green glass? hmmmmm not camo painted?
Here are some pics:

That looks like a 1963 Grizzly.A Dogleg model.
thanks....I was wondering about that after reading through some other threads and seeing some other pics. I appreciate the help from all of you.
Nice Grizzly, how does it shot.Tery
I'm going to try and twist the string to get the brace height higher and try tomorrow.
nice looking Grizz.
Thats Purty :) Congrats ........... Archer
Were 63 Grizzlies like the Kodiak Magnums Type I, Type II, Type III.
Which is this one?
Trap
That is a 63 for sure, only the Kodiak Mags were types I II and III. They had problems, in the beginning. The cubs and grizzlys as well as Kodiaks are fine.
Looks just like mine.
What weight is that one??
Mines 55#, so it doesn't get to go out that often.
It thumps an arrow with authority and is smooth.
Be neat to see how close our #'s are
I'll list the serial # later.
Kurt
This one is 42#...
My Serial # is 5bj121
Wonder how far apart they came off the assembly line?
Kurt
It would be interesting to know how many were made too.
