yes he did.I tried to pm you but your box is full.Fred used aqua net hair spray over his signuture so it did not get rubbed off.Aqua net hair spray is actually and this is one I can't spell laquier.Very thin formula of spray laquier. It's true...pretty weird huh ? bowdoc
hmmmmmmmmm
bowdoc,
When I worked in the store shelving industry the installers would strike chalk lines for each run of shelving before starting. They would spray the lines with Aqua Net to set them during installation so it must be tough stuff.
It held up the beehive hairdos in the 60s so it has to be tough.
Here are Aqua Net's Ingredients :
Water Aqua , Dimethyl Ethyer , SD Alcohol 40 B Alcohol Denat. , VA/Crotonates/Vinyl Neodecanoate Copolymer , Acrylates Copolymer , Aminomethyl Propanol , Sodium Benzoate , Cyclohexylamine , Triethyl Citrate , Cyclopentasiloxane , Sodium PCA , Masking Fragrance Parfum

Do you mean that he signed over the bow finish and sprayed Aqua Net over his signature?
-Simon
Yes generally he or who ever was signing would scuff the surface with steel wool.Sign thier name then a shot of aqua net over that. The vinylwhatever I believe is the laquier-ie base ? Thats what makes your hair sitff.I had some like that once long long ago...bowdoc
You see the mullet in the above pic man thats a dandy huh? bd
I believe some of those same ingredients are in viagra.
I am thinking the aqua-net from when Fred Bear would have been using it and what is available now is probably different.

There must be a hair dresser on Trad Gang for shure....
-Simon
Hair dresser no but mom ran a school of cosmetology and I spent lots of time there.(building full of hot chicks and the only other guys there were gay....get it now?) Aqua net has not changed since the 50's and is probably one of the worst products for your hair on the market. Bowdoc is right it is watered down Lacquer! We used to use it in art school to set charcoal sketches and pastels. And I have worked for furniture re finishers who recommended it for covering scuffs.
BTW Coke is a great paint remover/degreaser. all kinds of weird uses for stuff.....WD40 drives steelhead and salmon nuts......bag balm is great for more than cow udders.....
Oh yeah.I actually was told about the aqua net hair spray by StCharles and burst of laughing.Until I tried it.Great stuff..bowodc
Now that you've tried Aqua Net, did you save any to use on bows?
