Title: Rick Welch anchor question
Post by: SactoBowman on October 13, 2013, 03:23:00 PM
I watched his third DVD and tried to use his anchor with the thumb knuckle.  Sorry for the newbie question but is he referring to the joint closest to the tip or the joint closest to the palm?

I tried a couple of different ways and can't get a anchor that I feel I can repeat.

Thanks!

Bill

Personally I use both the whole area between both joints. I press that bone against my jaw bone.

Anchors can be tricky because every one has different shaped faces, jaw lines and size hands. Anything new will feel unusual at first and be hard to repeat until you have enough repetitions for it to become second nature.

Spend a couple days at blank bale trying out different anchors. The most important thing is that you have bone one bone contact and good alignment.

I put the knuckle closest to the nail, under my cheekbone (like a rifle stock would do) and the tip of my middle finger in the corner of my mouth.  It works great for me.  It does feel weird though.

Keith is correct. it fits real nice rite behind the ear loab.he also us ethe cock feather on the tip of his nose. for a double anchor. not sure if you shoot 3 under, but it all works very well with a little practice.

Beware trying to duplicate anyone else's anchor because we all have different sizes of hands and different shapes of faces. I read about some anchors and there is no way I can bend my hands to do that.
