I am just trying to get serious about traditional archery & need some advice on what books/dvd's you would recommend. I am not finding a lot of local help here in tampa, fl so I am going to try & learn from reading/watching dvd's. just ordered my Blacktail elite so I have plenty of time to learn more about the sport using my kingfisher.
Go to the "search" option up top and search for "books" narrow it to Search forum: Pow Wow and search in: Title Only.
You will find quite a few threads on it. Good stuff
Here are a couple:

HinT....make sure you uncheck "search all open forums"!! It will take forever if you don't.
Welcome!!!
By the way....check out a few of the sponsor sites that you can link to here....you will find everything you want as far as books and DVD's. Local chain bookstores are pretty much worthless when it comes to Trad!! Check out Kustom King, 3 Rivers, Big Jim's and others. Just ask if you need something....pretty good group of folks around here.
To start with....I'm pretty new myself and asked this exact same question:
Just BUY the Masters of the Barebow DVD series.....
Any E. Donnel Thomas Book. Excellent!!
Petersons. Man made of Elk.
Jay Campbell's. "Longbow"
And many many more!!!
X2 on the Masters of the Barebow series. I believe there are a few trad shooting e-books available on that site named after the big river in South America, if you read on a tablet or phone app.
And another Welcome from Oklahoma!
Here are some books that I've enjoyed:
"Shooting the Stickbow" by Anthony Camera (Great reference and info book on everything to do with traditional archery, shooting, arrow charts, etc.)
"Instinctive Archery Insights" by Dr. Jay Kidwell (Excellent book on the mental aspects of shooting by a doctor of psychology and a fellow archer)
"Understanding Winning Archery" by Al Henderson (former 1976 U.S. Archery Olympic Coach)
As for videos, I only have the Masters of the Barebow Series (all 4 volumes), and really enjoy them all. Vol. 4 includes more of the mental side of shooting.
