Any one here "goofy footed"? I have noticed a lot of old timers giving me junk for my natural goofy stance when i shoot, and i dont read a whole lot about it in archery literature. Is a goofy footed stance taboo in archery? Goofy being right foot slightly behind your left foot in a sort of beyond closed stnace.
It's not goofy if you hit every target. To me that would be incredibly uncomfortable though. Just a thought related to my old offhand military rifle shooting days. Try standing in your goofy stance and draw an imaginary bow, close your eyes for 10 seconds and then open them back up. Did your aim move to the right? If so your body is under tension to move that way and will produce unecessary tension with that stance.
Form is from the waist up...I have no idea where my feet are when I shoot game...and I'm not always on my feet either, sometimes sitting, and some times on my knees....and my hips could be pointing at a sever angle at my target.
Its all about alignment of the 'Magic T'...and rotation of the waist either right or left or up and down.
Don't worry about it..... :campfire:
