I am experiencing pain in my draw arm. Has anyone experienced this. Any ideas how to alleviate it?

If a person is not drawing the bow using the back muscles, arm pain can result. Not knowing if you are already using your back muscles, that would be my first thought.
You could be overbowed.
You could have pulled an arm muscle somehow, through archery or a combination of activities (once I shot a bunch of arrows in the morning and dug a bunch of holes in the afternoon, which left me with arm pain for weeks). The only remedy for that is to lay off and take Advil or something for the inflamation until it finally gets better.
Taking statins, like Lipitor, for cholesterol, can cause muscle pains. If that is the cause, you can talk with your doctor about reducing the dose. You can also take CoQ10, a supplement available in health food stores, which counteracts some of the bad effects of statins.
I have the same issue only in the shoulder of the bhe bow arm and exercise seems to help me a lot. It seems the older I get the more pain I get.
McDave:
Could be the shooting in the morning and working later. I could have tweaked a tendon or ligament in my forearm also. This issue has been long going, even a sports doctor said there was nothing wrong with the bone (as much as he could tell from an x-ray)

I would think it would be a muscle pulled from drawing more than bone related. If it's a joint it is usually tendonitis, which I get in my bow shoulder. So I limit my shooting a bit as I don't want to get hurt before hunting season:)
Seems I have tendonitis in both elbows, the more bow weight I use, the worse it seems to be. The problem is there not a real cure out there.
Try some Arnica Montana, or I think it's called Russtox. Not sure of the spelling, no booz or caffeine. Take the flat magnets off the frig. and place them in the injured area.
Whenever you do anything with the arm that is in question, make sure you have a good grip and good leverage before applying any movement.
I use to get bad tendonitis, but started doing the above and no longer have a problem. You must also remember white flower, sugar, high fructose corn syrup all cause inflammation,so I avoid those foods with them.
I have had cortizone shots in my shoulder. they helped after a couple rounds and taking some time off to let it work. Taking pills doesn't mean it goes to the place you want it to. Shots worked for me. After that I have paced myself on my practice sessions so not to irritate it again.
Well actually, Arnica will only work if one is injured.
I have shoulder pains of late. Maybe it could be from the Lipitor the doc has me on. That might be something to check out.
