Title: Do flipper rests help flight and accuracy?
Post by: targets3D on July 19, 2010, 04:25:00 AM
I shoot off a plastic stick-on rest (Hoyt) on my recurve. I recently came across the AAE T-300 super fipper arrow rest on 3Rivers. I am wondering if this will help at all.

On my hunting bows, I still like the Bear rubber stick ons. I usually trim it down some though. But, if I can get away with not using one at all, I certainly do. It depends on the bow (recurve). On my longbows, I really don't use a rest.

As far as accuracy you'll gain on switching the two that you mentioned. I wouldn't expect much.

i can bet perfect flight off the shelf the only benifit to a elevated rest to my knowledge is you can use synthetic fletchings and it brings the arrow up closer to your eye for gap shooting .
