I'm shooting cedar shafts for the first time and trying to get them to tune. I'm shooting bare shaft and I've cut them down a 1/2" at a time. I've got them sticking straight into the target, left to right, but I can't get rid of a nock high. I've moved the nock point all over the place with no effect. Any ideas?
Try going higher- you may be low and rebounding off the shelf. The sweet spot can be pretty narrow, so be sure you haven't missed it. Shooting a fletched shaft might show you whether you're actually high or not- a fletched shaft will almost always kick with a low nocking point from the fletching hitting the shelf, but can look good with a high nocking point.
Yeah, I'll fletch one up and give it a try. Thanks for the tips.
