I just wanted to say thanks to whomever it was who told me about a cure for an arrow "bumping up" slightly when shooting three under.
When I was told this I had been shooting 66" Howard Hill Longbows for years with a three under tiller with no problem, but when I tried to get perfect arrow flight from my grand daughter's three under tillered recurve, both bare shafts and fletched arrows came off the shelf nock high, no matter what I did.
This morning, after years of putting it off, I tried what had been recommended. I attached a second nock set loosely directly below a nocked arrow and the came to full draw. Just the old timer said, the lower (slightly loose) nock had moved down a bit to make room for the nock. I crimped it in that location, drew and released. The normally nock high bare shaft flew like a dart straight to the target! It was indeed a beautiful sight.
All I can figure is that since I shoot with equal string pressure on all three fingers, there's a radical difference in string angle upon release, This causes the arrow to slide down the string a bit and the second nock set stopped that from happening.
In any case, whomever it was that passed that info along, you have my sincere thanks.
