Title: HIgh wrist?
Post by: cjgregory on January 27, 2009, 08:04:00 PM
I have noticed when I shoot that even though my hand is in contact with the grip that I like the bulk of the pressure between my thumb and forefinger and I extend out my bow arm when I draw, with all the pressure right there.  I only really grasp the bow lightly with my thumb and forefinger.  Barely any pressure if at all.

Does this indicate that I like a "high wrist" grip?  Would getting a "high wrist" gripped bow benefit my shooting style?

You would probably be more comfortable with a Asbell Style grip which has a slightly larger palm swell given how you hold the bow(it allows you to rotate your hand more). In my experience, a high wrist can lead to bow torque unless I'm very careful. I like bows with small grips and hold them as you do. The grip on a Shrew is dang near perfect
