I have been having a lot of trouble hitting my anchor point before i shoot. I guess this is a form of target panic because it has nothing to do with draw weight because i can easily draw heavier. I just cannot consistantly lock into my anchor before i release. I often just let fly before even touching my anchor. Who has had this problem and how do i fix it?
I had a similar issue. I helped it alot by drawing 10-15 times with no intention of shooting....anchoring and picking a spot, then easing down. I would then try to hold at anchor for 10-30 seconds, and ease down. Then I would SLOWLY draw, anchor, pick a spot and release.....kinda like re-booting my brain.
They don't call it an anchor for nothing. I try not to shoot untill my anchor is set solidly. As soon as it feels "solid" I release.
I have the same problem that I've been working on at an indoor range. Shooting at a blank bale, I pick a spot and more or less concentrate on coming to anchor, not caring on where I actually hit. After about an hour of this, once or twice a week, coming to anchor firmy becomes natural and consistant.
May want to throw a clicker on just for practice. Mind manipulation works wonders, you will be more worried about the clicker.Big Ed
