S! ALL!
I reckon it is probably a personal preference thing but I'm having trouble. I've learned to prefer a glove with my longbow and can't seem to use a tab..BUT..my glove is wearing out and I can't seem to find another that works! Can you all suggest a replacement and why? I wish I could add more info but I have no idea where or what this glove is. It fits snug and yet the tips seem to have protection but yet are sensitive!? I've bought 4 gloves sinse as a replacement and all hang on the rack. Help.
I shot with gloves all my life and recently made the switch to a tab. I am suprised at how much I like using the tab and will never go back to the glove.

Lucky, it sounds like you are describing a Damascus glove; also could be a Berlin glove. Go to 3rivers website and look around. I'm sure they have something that is very close to what you have, if not the same thing.
I used a glove for yeras, I switched to a tab, felt funny at first, now I love them....
I use the Cordovan tabs from Alaska Bowhunting Co.
2 will last a life time, the second one is incase ya lose the first one....
My personal favorite glove is the American Leather's Big Shot.
I shoot somewhat heavy bows and use to shoot gloves with plastic inserts in them to help protect my fingers and when I switched over to the Big Shot it took some getting use to because I could feel the string much more than with my other glove.
For me...the Big Shot is like combining the best of both worlds. It's about as close to the same shooting characteristics of a tab as you can get with a glove yet is always on my fingers.
Your experience might be different with the Big Shot because you seem to be more acustomed to a glove that allows more sensitivity to one that provides a little more protection.
I also have to say...I use to go through a glove a year or less because of how much I shoot but my Big Shot gloves last about 4 to 5 yrs. on average for me.

You might post a picture of it. Somebody should know what it is.
I haved tryed alot of gloves, but I shoot with a cordovan tab. the best glove I have tryed is the duro glove from three rivers.
I shoot the big shot glovw as well, I love it.
Thanks all! I guess I'll keep buying gloves til I find one that sticks. I'd love a tab to work but I just can't..must be me..but I gotta enuff trouble without switching this one..lol! (posting pics is out-same reason I can't shot a compound)-> just kidding..sorta. :p
You could try making a single-layer tab and using it OVER your glove for now, then if it works out ween yourself from there to the tab only. Like others I used a glove for years, but have found the tab to be so much more versatile. They also last a long time and are easy to make, so spares and replacements are handy and inexpensive.
You might also try wearing your tab over a cotton Jersey glove or light workglove. This helps provide more of the feel of a glove but still gives the advantages of the tab. Works especially well in colder weather.
Does the Big Shot allow for a full deep hook?
Bird Dog: it won't allow you to hook as deep as a properly designed tab and still stay on the slick material at the fingertips. I call a deep hook past the first joint; it will allow you to hook in the first joint. Paul.
Bird Dog,
I believe you can have them custom make you one with longer finger stalls to accomodate a deeper hook.
