Have a question:
Right Hand Split Finger shooter. I have been shooting a 58" R/D longbow.
Just got another 58" R/D Longbow.
Bow, (2) not cut to center. Have been shooting this bow, and developed quite a blister on my Ring Finger, 1/2" below the crease of my finger.
I seem to have to be conscious of not rolling the shaft off the riser for some reason, is this finger pinch? Or am i applying pressure differently.
Bow 2 seems just as smooth and quiet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Any advantage to adding a second nock point below the first??
Smaller shelf needs better form to keep the arrow on the shelf. Not finger pinch, sounds like you are putting uneven pressure on your fingers when you draw.
It could also be a high elbow causing the string to rub your ring finger. I had the high elbow problem when I first started shooting. Get your elbow back and in line with the arrow and I bet your blister will go away.
I always add an extra nock below the first. It helps stabalize things when I have a bad release.
1/2" below the crease. Is that right by the pad of your finger?
Also, do you use a glove or tab?
Could be both a combination of what Vermonster and Madness said. Either can cause a problem.
I shoot elbow high with a glove, but I don't use that ring finger for much. Actually the string runs about halfway between the finger crease and tip.
