Is it possible to tune a 3 under bow to shoot split finger off the shelf? What would this most likely do to arrow flight. Could it cause arrows to kick nock high?
I have done it and they have all shot fine once tuned. I had to play with my nocking point mostly, but brace-height may need tinkering as well. Shawn
My 3 under tillered recurve has a nock heigh of 3/8". Don't know how far down for slpit, less than 1/4" I am sure
I'm no expert, but I don't think it makes a hoot of difference as long as you tune your nocking point setting for proper arrow flight. I have a morrison shawnee with 3/16" positive tiller on the top limb. Just to see what would happen, I reversed the limbs on the riser and shot the bow. I did not see any difference in arrow flight and accuracy was the same. The nocking point was set the same at 7/8" above. This was with my 56" limbs and for some reason, I seem to need a higher nocking point for shorter bows.
