Title: Form Critque Please
Post by: Anvil on April 23, 2007, 06:49:00 PM
Sorry about the side ways view on the 1st arrow(new camera) 3 arrows on the video. The first arrow missed 6" right next two are right on. Six inches to the right is my usual miss. Thanks!

Lookin' pretty good from that angle.

The miss on your first shot is because you plucked the string slightly.  If you look close, you can see the bow jump up then start back down just prior to and at the release.  That doesn't happen on the other two shots.

On the other two shots, your release is slightly forward instead of back. It is very, very slight.  It's so slight in the video, I'm almost hesitant to bring it up.  But, that little movement forward is probably the cause of the pluck on your first shot and your occassional miss to the right.  Just a touch more back tension at the release would fix it.

Thanks Molson!! I see what you mean. I appreciate you taking the time to look at it. Back tension always seems to elude me with bows under 60#s. I just have to keep working at it.

First question I have, how do you get the target to stay up in the air?
Reminds me of Batman climbing up the wall of an office building?  :bigsmyl:

Lower elbow.

Elbow looks fine to me........

Care to guess who this is with an elbow at your angle?

I'll have another look at the rest of your form.....

That's good Kingstaken:) Thanks.
Terry, I look forward to hearing what you have to say. If a video from another vantage point would be helpful, I can make one.
Thanks

Your form looks good.  For me I like the shooting hand to come back a bit more on release.  More back tension as Molson said. Elbow is fine.  Good luck....Van
