Has anybody hunted hogs on that 500 acre ranch in southern Idaho?
I live 1/2 hour away from the 'ranch'. It's a small acreage, fenced, that you can walk completely in a couple of hours. A friend of mine a few years ago went and 'hunted'. He passed on using a 'guide' and found the pigs by 10:00 a.m. and shot one before noon. I believe the 'ranch' is only around 1000 acres. I was in the office of my wild game processor when three fellows came in grinning and laughing and talking about how they had such a great hunt. They were in full, complete camo and shot compounds and I wondered what they could possibly be hunting. When I was fed up with all the swaggering exhibited, I went out to the truck and saw three piglets of around 40 - 50# in the bed. The 'hog ranch' had lived up to it's reputation, sadly.
thanks for the info, they must get alot of buisness because they had only two days left for 2008.It sounds like the 8 hr drive would not be worth it. take care
there's alot of 'hunters' that shoot them with rifles, pistols, muzzleloader, and compounds just to say that they did it. I think they want the pork, and there tends to be a hunting drought in the spring around here and guys get cabin fever.
I can't blame them, thats what I was after (a little more hunting)
