Yesterday I got a beautiful Birdseye maple longbow from a friend who had just got another one. It's 54" in length and is 58#@27". Sometimes we just have to own something that we can't use..., but it's such a gorgeous bow. Can anyone tell me anything about these bows? I'd love to have one in about 40-45# @ 28". It looks like it would be a great shooter.
I think Dalton has one.
TTT
I shot one that was 49@28. Even at my 29 inch draw, it was so smooth that it didn't feel nearly that heavy. Was really stable and shot an arrow hard.
That's what the guy said who owned the bow..., that it pulled smooth and evenly out to 30". I like the way the bow is built..., much like a Shrew.
I've got a 56" that is a nice shooter,it's also very nice to look at. Mine's 43@28.
I've got one. I absolutely love it. Mine is 58" tip to tip. 55# @ 28". Osage and walnut with elk antler tips. It is a great shooter and a looker. I was afraid of finger pinch but that is unfounded.
My trouble is finding an arrow for it. I'm currently waiting on an order from 3 Rivers Archery with a carbon test kit.
I believe the wood spine that flies best out of mine is 80-85!
The bow is beautiful. You can't go wrong in my opinion.

Chuck Deshler does a pretty good job when he makes a bow.
I shot one at the GLLI and was flat out impressed, it was much lighter than I normally shoot and was smooth at my almost 30" draw and was much faster than I suspected, a top notch short longbow for sure
GREAT bows and better bowyer!!
Gabe VanWormer shoots one. Check him out on Youtube. Pretty impressive.
You can't go wrong with anything from Chuck.
Im getting a 54" blacked out. Those Ogemaws are sweet bows.
Finally, a photo or two.

Chuck, I replied to your message. Thanks for the offer, but I have successfully worked my way down from 60# to 40#.
That's a great quote by Francis Chan. So many of us live mundane lives for fear of failure.
I ordered one yesterday.

Correction! This bow is 48# @ 27", not 58#. Now it's getting close to my shooting weight.
