Many of you may know Mike Horton. He was the guy who owned The Nocking Point before selling it to Terry and Sheila Lightle. Besides being a gentleman farmer in his sunset years, Mike has also taken up another hobby to keep him busy; metal sculpture. I saw Mr. Horton at the United Bowhunters of Missouri Festival a few weeks ago and he had this piece on display at Terry's booth. I immediately snatched it up and asked what he wanted for it. He acted kind of surprised that anyone would want to buy it and said he would tell me later what the price was. Well, he and Brenda left early to beat the ice storm and I never did hear from him. So I called him up a couple of weeks ago offering to purchase the piece again. He acted kind of embarrassed and I told him, as a fellow craftsman, that I knew he had a lot of time in it and I would pay whatever he asked. So we settled on a price and I received the sculpture in the mail this past Friday. Pretty cool, huh?

Here he is with the rest of my collection at work. Mike also made the little guy made out of a railroad spike.
