Anyone got both? I had coyote once an sold it, like a D bag.
Got a order in for a new stalker. Loved the thinner grip on the coyote but not sure on the Wolverine grip it's thicker material
Wolverine 18.5 inch riser 62" bow
Coyote 15" riser 62" bow
Anyone got both they can take pics of side by side of the throat of the grips.
Would like the longer riser for mass weight and stability but don't like a big fat grip
A couple of possibilities to consider.
You could probbaly ask South if he could mimic the Coyote handle on a Wolverine riser. Conversely, you could also inquire about heavier or denser wood combos to create the heavier mass your thinking of in the Wolverine but in a Coyote riser if you enjoyed your previous one.
Some options to consider anyways. Good luck with the new bow when it arrives and post up some photos when it arrives.
i have shot most of them and have had the amazing opportunity to be part of a a couple of souths designs.
My advice go with the coyote. There is not a lot of difference in the grip and the performance of the coyote is amazing. If you want something specific in grip south can help.
You wont regret the stalker.
I had a Wolverine and got to shoot my friend's Coyote. If I had it to do over again, I'd get a Coyote.
All depends what you like. He can make the grip pretty small. My new ILF is on the wolverine platform and hr made the grip thin and wonderful. I have both as well and while I like the Coyote for hiking and carrying, I cant get past the feel of the heavier riser. It just feels and shoots better for me.
I have both the Wolverine and Coyote and love both bows but prefer the Coyote due to it's more compact size. I had South build black phenolic in all of my Stalkers to increase the mass weight a bit. I really like that for bow arm stability. As was previously stated South will shape the grip to your specifications. For instance the last 2 Coyotes I bought from South I wanted a slightly lower wrist so that I can bear my thumb pad on it more easily. Those 2 risers are PERFECT for me.

Michael - I have never seen such an matched set - impressive
Michael, every time you post that trio I have to sit back and kick my own butt for not grabbing that Dingo when it was available...
I will agree with the use of phenolic. My Coyote riser is a Walnut/Phenolic combination and It's easily the weight of my all Cocobolo Riser of my Robertson Prairie or just over.
Thanks ShrtRnd. I have decided that my Coyotes are the perfect bows for me and I have since added 4 more Coyotes with an assortment of woods and limbs to my bow rack. Consequently my lonely Wolverine in the photo will be up for sale soon.
PM sent Michael
Thanks for the input, coyote it is, sold mine went ilf crazy neat journey with that stuff learned what my max weight I shot thr most accurate is for sure, good thing
