I was traveling through a park this morning in central Florida and noticed a truck stopped in the opposite lane. As I got closer I saw what had the guys interest, it was a 4 point eating new growth off a Water oak tree. To think all those years I searched for acorns when scouting. :banghead:

Ah, browse....thats what they eat when the acorns are gone in the winter.
Yeah, guess it was the type browse I found intriguing. I make it a point to watch deer feed and just never saw em eat oak leaves in my neck of the woods Gallberry tips, vines, briars,and various grasses.

That video of the little spike i sent you this morning, he was also eating leaves.
Yep leaves are a large part of their diet but that was the first time I've seen a deer chow down on water oak it really surprised me
