Title: 57 and still learning
Post by: Possum Head on February 16, 2018, 11:19:00 PM
I was traveling through a park this morning in central Florida and noticed a truck stopped in the opposite lane. As I got closer I saw what had the guys interest, it was a 4 point eating new growth off a Water oak tree. To think all those years I searched for acorns when scouting.   :banghead:

Yeah, guess it was the type browse I found intriguing. I make it a point to watch deer feed and just never saw em eat  oak leaves in my neck of the woods Gallberry tips, vines, briars, and various grasses.

Yep leaves are a large part of their diet but that was the first time I've seen a deer chow down on water oak it really surprised me
