Title: Final Step Maybe
Post by: joel0711 on February 16, 2018, 07:57:00 PM
1975 or 76 Bear Kodiak Hunter 45# 0 center shot with 3 holes. One large for plunger 2 smaller for side mount pin site. I'm re-doing these places back to original as close as I can. I needed opinion on the final steps-- holes have been smoothed and filled with min-wax wood filler. Large hole has 3/8 inch dowel added and level with bow. 24 hours being given for full drying. Plunger not needed with 0 center shot and my arrows, just one more thing NOT to worry with (flipper 2 rest)
My next step is hand sanding smooth, adding stain (green is 13 dollars quart mixed and I need about 4 drops-ha),then polyurethane, then buff with deimil cloth head on low.-----Does this technique sound o.k. or am I missing something?????

Sounds good.  Maybe get some green ink, or a green felt tip pen to stain the dowel.
