With so many good bows out there I'm curious to know what are favorite bows they have or what would be your dream bow to acquire?
I pretty much have my dream bows. Still looking for the right J.D. Berry, Jack Harrison and Fred Anderson longbows.
My favorite bows are Hill style bows. I have five from HHA and two from Northern Mist. All are 68" long and all but one are in the range of 50-65# draw weight. The odd one is 40# draw weight.
There are some others I would like to acquire such as something from Berry, and I also would like to get a Ramer from Steve Turay.
The bows I have are nothing special but I often dream of shooting them better.
Love my Tall Tines Stickflingers!
I have a couple favorite bows but my Dream bow is ILF BB, 25" riser too many to pick just one, with long limbs. But it's going to have to be just a dream bow for now.
I have had a bunch. Liberty Chief, Tall Tines recurve, JD Berry Morningstar, and a Blacktail. I liked each one.
My dream Bow? I guess it's a Stickflinger. I am waiting on one to be delivered. I am trying to cross over to all longbows.
Kind of tough as I used to think I was recurve guy. I felt more confidant when I hunted with one. If it doesn't work for me I'll pick up another Tall Tines recurve.
I have two of the three dream bows. My Toelke Pika and my original Schafer Silvertip recurve. The bow I have always wanted is a 68" HHA Wesley Special. I just don't know what grip to get, so I guess that's what has always stopped me from ordering one.
posts like this make me want to go out and buy bows :D
my favorite ones right now that I shoot the most also are the tt titan and the unfortunately out-of-production whippenstick.
not sure what to dream of that would shoot better than the above two. But I will follow this thread for inspiration ;)
My favorite is my present Silvertip, my dream bow will be my next and last Silvertip.
Macassar Ebony riser with Black and White Ebony double crescent, B&W ebony limb veneers and rough sheep tips and overlays.
My dream bows : Dale Dye Medicine Point (http://i.imgur.com/0uzosgI.jpg) (https://imgur.com/0uzosgI) (got it) and Dale dye cocobolo (http://i.imgur.com/KXjukMt.jpg) (https://imgur.com/KXjukMt) with copperhead skinned limds got it, Still looking for a one peace Dale Dye!
Blacktail recurves have 2 (http://i.imgur.com/WihP54O.jpg) (https://imgur.com/WihP54O)
and lastly Schafer Silvertip recurve with camo limbs got it (http://i.imgur.com/Qgv9knq.jpg) (https://imgur.com/Qgv9knq) (some day I'll order one with my name one it)
I like Hill style bows. I have two JD Berrys, one I made and one Sunset Hill that all are superior to any other longbow that I have ever played with. If I wanted another bow, I cannot imagine what it would be.
Mine is a Saluki Sycthian, I had 2 in the past and man they're sweet. Second would be the S-tip with camo limbs like bldtrailer.
I have not even shot all the styles of bows yet. I cannot make up my mind.
I have my dream bows if I ever have to change it will be for a different poundage or wood combo. Same bows.
My favorite is my Tall Tines Stickflinger. Hybrid performance and as quiet as a Hill bow. Brian came up with something special with that one. That being said, my other favorites are in my signature. My Cleland Stickbow is a sensational shooter, and is a bit different than some other bows. Gregg Coffeys bows have always been among my favorite ever, and Big Jims, and about a half dozen other bowyers
I have owned and tried several different custom bows over the years. But never found one that fit or impressed me as much as my Martins, Hunter, Scorpion, Super Diablo, Mamba and hopefully one day Martins new Diablo Super Elite. I always keep my eyes open for old Martins as well. I was lucky enough to come an old Diablo on RMS Gear last October that I was blessed to harvest a beautiful coyote and 9 pointer the following weekend after receiving it.
I have a Mohawk that is a current favorite. Smooth draw and so quiet on the release. Vince knows how to make a great bow!
I have answered posts like this before and usually a few years I go back and see my answers have changed since then.
My favs right now are my Big Jim Thunderchild and my Black Ram Traditions recurve. Also I love my 60 kodiak and 68 Grizzly.
At this stage of the game, my favorites and dream bows are the same. Between my Schafer Silvertips, and Blacktail recurves, I can't imagine any thing better. I am a lucky man.
I would say my favorite bows that I've had we're a Jordan stalker longbow, Bob Thompson zipper, and the kwyk styk I have now. My dream bow would have to be a 58" Schafer recurve
My favorite bow right now is my Howatt Hi-Speed, because I shoot it the best. My dream bows would be a Blacktail,Schafer,Tall Tines,Black Widow or Toelke.
My favorite is the bow in my signature. Of the 200+ bows that I've owned or shot, it performs the best in my hands of any bow available regardless of price points from cheap production bows through $2500 customs.
As for a dream bow, I like the one in my signature although I do wish it were a 2-piece take down only because that would make traveling with it less cumbersome. I don't know if I would do fancy exotic veneers or just go with some bias cut grey laminate if I had to order another though. I love the pretty woods, but I hunt mostly in oaks and hickories and the grey bows just disappear in that environment and look almost just like the natural tree bark in the area.
I can't decide which bow will be next Whip, Centaur, or Maybe a Schaefer recurve?? I I've been looking for a Whippenstick in 40-45#, but no luck yet. This hobby sure is addictive
Funny how that dream bow thing works......I wanted a Silvertip for years. Through buying and selling and trade'n I finally got one. I shot well with it and it has the best grip I have ever held. But it just did not trip my trigger. I have had a bunch of good bows but I just seem to get back to bows made by Chad Holms. I also have a bunch of ASL's that really are fun to shoot.
One and the same for me too, Blacktails and Treadways. Will take delivery of a new Black Forest from Mike at TBOF this March.
I've got a Caribow Featherhorn that I though about for a few years. Finally ordered one and got it about a year and a half ago. This is the one I'll hang on to for a long time.
I think I've got mine. 2 of them. One is a Primal Tech longbow and then my Black Widow PCH. I love the Black Widow factory graybark pattern on my recurve, but my longbow is absolutely gorgeous. Both of them are shooters too!!
My favorite right now is my Howard Hill Special Edition Black Mamba followed by my 2PC Wes Wallace Royal and Yellowstone longbow. Ken
I guess I'm plain jane. The bows that have fitted my style the best are the Martin hunters. would love to find one in a lefty at 45#'s. I've also had a Kanata and that grip fits very well. As I age ,I've been getting rid of the high poundage bows, but always looking for the Holy Grail of bows. don't know what it is ,but I'll know it when i shoot it
I weighed options for a year or two before building a dream bow; 2 piece caribow featherhorn, yew core, cocobolo handle, beavertail grip. I love it. Want another but a 2 piece wolverine model.
A decked out blacktail would be somethi g to have some day.
Finally, I'm not a recurve guy, but Danny Rowans Silvertip known as "Love Potion #9" is bar none the sexiest bow I have ever seen!
Out of all that I have tried my favorites so far would be toelke and centaur
A black phenolic Bear Super Kodiak.
JD Berry Yahweh my first custom bow bought about 20 yrs ago and newly bought Shrew Super Samurai
I currently have 3 Schafer's. Those are the bows for me!
I'm pretty content with the bows I have now, both current and vintage, but two that I haven't gotten my mitts on and would like to are Centaur and Saluki.
I've been through more bows than I would ever want to admit to. I've pretty much settled on the best of the best for me and haven't bought anything new in quite awhile now. Still have way more than I need.
But I do find myself lusting over a Blacktail T/D longbow since shooting my buddies a couple of months ago. That could prove to be a very expensive test drive.
For me it's my Centaur. Had it made two years ago, is everything I want and fits me like a glove. Impeccable workmanship, it is the bow that will never leave me.
I will say that I went through a lot of bows to get to this point, both long bows and recurves, and from a lot of great bowlers.
David
I love my Bodnik Slick Stick. Shoot it better than any bow I have ever had. For several reasons it will always be my favorite. That said If money was no object I would love to own an Caribow Slynx. There are just so many Great Bows Being made right now. Hell, for a while now. Alot of Gifted people out there. Our gain!
HHA Wesley Special, HHA Redman, HHA Halfbreed, HHA Tembo, Northern Mist Classic, Sunset Hill by Nate Steen. Northern Mist Shelton (Shelton is my Dad's name)

That's what I am talking about. I am pretty content with what I own; 3 Bears, a Martin and a Great Plains, special only to me.
Have mine,Wild Horse Creek Destiny 56 1/2 # @28 hits where I look
Terry
My favorite bow is the Sarrels Blueridge long riser takedown longbow. I own 4 of them. I quit looking around for different bows after I got my first one. The last 2 new bows I have bought have been Blueridges! I don't really have a dream bow, as I already own it!!!
Bisch
got all my dream bows. my favorite is Scherrinsky 48.
I own 5 bows right now. If I could take features of each of them in a single bow, that'd be my dream. Of course, if I DID that, it might turn out to be a dog!
I would love a jd berry special addition , quarter sawn purple plywood Lams with his balsa wood riser !
I have been fortunate to have had and continue to have many different wonderful dreams.
My favorite is without a doubt a Zipper Zipstick, I have 2 of them. A dream would be for Bill and Tom to come up with a good way to make them a 2 piece for traveling.
I had a friend that had a dream bow wish. Finally he ordered it and although I had broken my neck in a ladder fall I finally conceded to build one last bow especially for him. We named the bow Omega. Both of us came up with the name and felt it was a really strange thing. I had one stipulation ., No time limit because I was really in bad shape. So after about six months I finally got her built and man it was one awsome bow. He got it and was happy as a lark. Shooting it in his house because it was hurricaning in Texas where he lived.
His wife called me several days after he got the bow and told me how well it pleased him but that he had gone to be with Jesus in the middle of the night.
I was really blessed in that he passed a happy man and think of it often and miss our conversations. True story and it was the last bow I built. RIP Lelon Willis
Buy your dream bow if you can and enjoy it .
God bless, Steve
Your a good man Steve . Im still loveing my frontier 66
My dream bows have always been Bear S.K.'s, T/D's and Predators, and I have enough of both. I've never shot a Silvertip or Blacktail, I think I might be better off keeping it that way !
Gotta be realistic here as age and my pocketbook have caught up. Few years ago, it would have been a 56-inch '59 Kodiak in a lower draw weight like 40lb or lower.
I just have eight I hauk from FL to NY and back. Five are old rosewood recurves, but they are doing fine right now. My recurve bows need to have wood risers, draw back uniformly with no fingner pinch, shoot smooth, rise slowly to salute the shot, have good riser balance, and have wood with fine grain which is lined up well to the shape of the riser (no plywood looks or fat or wide grained woods) and be works of art. Got some of them, so I'm OK this year.
I have four bows that I want to get my hands on. Two recurves and two longbows. A 50# 58" Black Widow PCH in Bocote, no red; a Tall Tines recurve, a Toelke Whip and a Big Jim Thunderchild. Boy, I got some work to do!
My dream bows would be a 64" Black widow longbow in the 55-60# range, a Toelke Whip with the same specs, and a timberhawk recurve. I absolutely love the way the riser fits my hand on them.
Just for kicks, I don't know if it exists, but if I could take my Abbott longbow and recurve the tips to get a little more speed, I think that would be my absolute dream bow.
a clean Jack Howard Gamemaster Jet in the #50/#60 range.......... that I can afford.........
Made in the U.S.A.
I have been fortunate to try a lot of the top names out there, but have been pretty settled on TallTines recurves and longbows.
However lately I have really regretted not having Dale Dye build me a medicine point when I had the chance. I spoke to him about two years ago and never pulled the trigger..
I once only saw a picture of a Brakenberry Non-Typical. I have never seen one in person let alone held one.
For some reason the look and style of that bow has always been stuck in my mind. I guess if you still dream about a bow... its your dream bow, right?
OkKeith
I have been thinking a lot about the St. Charles Thunderbird recurve, dual shelf, 63", in the mid 40#s range. I shot a couple of them at his place and they seemed as quiet as any longbow, even without string silencers.

I sure would like a Bear Supreme Take Down, or a Signature bow.
It was my Thunderstick III 64" 47#@28. It had my name on it.
We were on hard times, and had to sell to help with finances. Family first.
I would love to find it and buy it back, but I cannot remember who I sold it to.
Looking quite forward to acquiring a special Big Jim Mountain Monarch.
She is destined for action.You
Say it aint so.
Gotta shoot that Hungarian Hedge Apple selfbow you have. I hear from a purdy good selfbow shooter that the bow hammers!
