Title: Stalker Recurves "striker"
Post by: Historybuff on February 07, 2018, 09:04:00 AM
I went to an estate auction and ended up with a custom "Striker" 3 piece takedown by Stalker Recurves built by south cox.  It's 60" 53#@28. I'm a Bear archery guy but it was a price I couldn't refuse. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea on string length and brace height?  I'd appreciate the info. Thanks.

Are you sure that's the name and company?

For string length some say 3" some say 4", I would call the bowyer or a good string maker which they have on this site.

As for BH most recurves start at 7.5" and tune up or down, or just call the bowyer.

That was the model name of his recurve when South first took over the production.  I have one and it is almost identical to his now  Schleyer model.  A little blockier than his current version and it has the original non static limbs.  One of my most accurate recurves ever, right next to my 60" Bear B green stripe.

Give South a call at Stalker Stickbows 970-586-4448 (shop) or 707-496-0136 (mobile) to get a definitive answer.

There is a lot of good and helpful people on this site and I appreciate it guys.  I called the shop and talked to Jake.  He double checked with South and said 57 and a quarter inch string with a 7 and a quarter inch to 7 and 3 quarter inch brace height. I can't wait to shoot it!
