Have relentlessly pursued a wonderful 8 point this past season. With possibly 6 1/2" bases and long G1's thru G3's, he Is a looker. Had captured pics of him standing in scrapes that I had implemented in May on several occasions. Unfortunately, we were never able to share the same time at these sets.
He has been utilizing one particular funnel every 2nd or 3rd day since late October and has continued into January. Also, a hi end 10 point has routinely shown. I purposely avoided setting up there as I would be more comfortable in setting up in this open area with considerable prep work.
My tentative plan is to start next season's setup in a couple of weeks. I certainly hope this buck has not peaked. My affinity for nice 8 points has always been high and this particular 8 point, has held my attention for quite some time.
If any of you have pics of special 8 points, please share and elaborate if you wish?
Thank you...
Oh Scott, Big 8s are so cool!!!
There's something about a Big Framed, High Scoring buck and he does it with only 8 points :readit:
My dream buck is a 160" 8 :archer:
This guy showed up on my cams this summer!

I seen him ounce this fall on the 26th of October but he's disappeared since the first part of November.
I'm hopping he's still alive
23feetupandhappy...A wonderful 8 point
May you be granted a splendid opportunity at this special 8 point.
Thank you for sharing.
Big 8 points are cool, but I can't lie, I prefer really big 6 points.
Good luck with your pursuits of these fine specimens
Big eight's are cool and big big sixes are really something. Hope he makes it thru the winter, with 6 1/2" bases he has some age on him.
Chased a tall big six this year but I shot over him, or I prefer to believe he ducked the arrow, lol. Hoping for another chance next year.

This was a great eight from 2015.

I found his sheds in March 2016.
Creekwood, You are right, that is a spectacular Buck.
creekwood.....one most special 8 point
Thank you for sharing.
Wow Creekwood what a buck! What do you think it would score? Thanks for sharing!
Homey...measured 160ish. But that includes some speculation about things like width.
Sure wish I could post picks again, I have some really good ones I think you guys would like.
Tracy
I had an 8 that I was chasing this year that had real dark antlers and pretty decent mass. What made him special apart from the dark antlers was that he had a knob on his main beam from a bug burrowing in during velvet. Can't post a picture but I finally caught up with him during gun season.
Awesome! Thanks creekwood amazing animal!
I love big 8 points!
On my Birthday.....
On the way to my tree stand for the evening I dove out of the truck to stalk this hog....

This is a buck that I first found the sheds from when he was a 2.5 year old. I found the next years set too. Didn't find the set from when he was 4.5, but I finally caught up to him when he was 5.5 Not a big racked deer, but he was a deer that I had a lot of history with and was tickled to have a chance at him.

Here is the buck that I am currently after. This was him last year. He grew a G4 on his left side this past year, so he is no longer just an 8.

Beautiful bucks ks.
Thanks Charlie! So much fun watching them grow and seeing them change and mature.
I got a cool old buck this year, he really went down some in size from the last few years. Lots of character and still a great buck aged him at 7/8 yrs old.
Tracy
Here's one of the better big 8's I've caught on camera:

I passed on this buck the last two years hoping he puts on a little mass. Next year no pass for him.
A very good coastal Carolina 8 point.l (https://i.imgur.com/JWfIghk.png?1)
Another, shared this pic with the regional game biologist and in a typical studious response, "a fine example of a coastal whitetail" Made me chuckle. Largest body deer I have seen here in 30 years.

Fine 8 points katman.
Big 8 points have always been my favorite.
I was lucky enough to take this one a few years ago on Thanksgiving morning. The shot was 1 yard straight down from a 10 foot ladder stand.
His G2's are just under 14 inches.

That left G3 is awesome!
