Does anyone have experience with binocular bags like the Badlands bino x or Sitka Bino Bivy? After this last season of elk hunting I had snow every day and my binos were always full of snow or water. Need more protection for them.
I like the Sitka bino bag. very light and stayed put. A little pricy but a good bag.

I have the original Badlands bino bag with the magnetic closure. Use it with my 10x40 Zeiss, mostly for storage. Great for that, but might be cumbersome in the field. If the weather is bad, I tuck the bino's inside my jacket or vest for protection from the elements and quick access. Works for me. :campfire:
I have a Kuiu one for sale. if you want to see text me @605-759-4209
Looks like the Sitka is zipper closure, and reviews have said that is kinda loud. That wouldn't work for my style of hunting. I have a kuiu, and and I like the way it hangs, but don't love the way that opens. The one for sale by Alaska Guide creations is the best opening design, and the one I like best, but I get much better clearance for drawing my bow with the kuiu. I would love to see kuiu go to an opening system similar to that of the Alaska Guide Creations harness.
Most of the people that I have talked to have no issue drawing their bow with the AGC, and really like those harnesses.
Rick Young Outdoors makes a neoprene cover system thats worked well.
Possibly military surplus,if you can find quiet enough material?
The nearby (to me) military surplus store in Beautiful Boring, Oregon has several types of bags that looked like they could do the trick.....
Tim......just curious to why you are selling yours?
i still like them hanging under my arm and can swing them around and out of the way. I thought the way they open was one of the best i've seen
I have the Sitka Bivy and really like it. Snug close fit. I does have a zippered closure but also has magnets built in to keep the flap open or closed while in the field. The only time I actually zip it completely shut is while trekking or in weather.
I also own an Alaskan guide, but find it a little bulky especially while drawing a stick bow at odd angles. I had a Kuiu also but didn't like the fact that it wasn't fully enclosed like the Sitka.
Sitka has my vote so far.
Thanks for that. I wasn't aware of the magnets!
Thank you for all the input

I've always liked the Badlands one the best of the pouch style because it's fabric is silent and the magnetic closures are quick, easy, require the least movement, and are silent.
That said, I've gone to the Rick Young harness and prefer to do without the bulk of a bag type all together. When it's raining/snowy I just use the end cap on the top lenses and that keeps most of it at bay for me.
I don't like the bulk of a bag, but do use Bino-bibs on all my binos. I can use my regular harness and it keeps my glass protected from dust and moisture, without a lot of bulk.
Oregon Pack Works makes a nice one and Alaska Guide Creations does as well
Thanks Tim
First Lite has one for sale. Once it's back in stock I think I'll go with it.

Schnees has a really simple one, low profile, neoprene, attaches to a shoulder harness. Works great for Midwest whitetail. For western I would look at Alaska Guide Creation, FHF, or Marsupial.
