Title: A walk in the snow
Post by: Soonerlongbow on January 01, 2018, 12:13:00 AM
It's rare that we get snow in southern Oklahoma during deer season, so whenever we have even a dusting I try to get out and enjoy it. Sadly today wasn't fruitful but it was darn certain fun! But I did get into a staring contest with two bobcats at about 100yds. As is always the case, they always seem to just appear out of thin air. I was walking along a burn break on the WMA boundary and stopped to glass the brush ahead of me. When I put the binos down they were just standing there. One didn't really like me looking at it and after a while melted back into the woods. The other was a bit more curious and he slowly worked his way closer to about 50yds.
.
Both had beautiful winter pelts.

Waurika Lake. Grew up hunting the opposite side near McCalester and never once tried for the MCAAP hunts. When I was in the Reserve I used to go out there to shop at the tiny little PX/Shoppette.
