Anyone know whether these are made for long draws a la Thunderchild? The riser seems pretty short. Looking at a 60" and I have a 32" draw. Any impressions of the bow would be welcome also. Thanks.
I don't know about the draw length limitations of the bow but I have a 56" coming next week! I love the design and how unique the bow is. It is everything that you could want in a longbow in my opinion.
My suggestion is to call Treadway, he's one heck of a nice guy. He will answer all of your questions and tell you a few stories as well, I'm sure of that :D
give Mike a call....just talking to him is worth the price of admission......
Just got a black swamp 51@28. Been shooting it everyday. It was made in 2011. Been wanting one for years and finally got one from a member on ***********.
I have a 60" Black Swamp......I draw just over 29" and it is as smooth has butter all the way. I know I could draw it farther. But I would call Mike........make sure you have some time to talk.

X3. Mike is a great guy
He makes a 62" Black Swamp I'm pretty sure would get back that far. Also a 64" Black Forest probably would too.
Mike's bows are about as good as it gets. I have yet to find one of his models that didn't shoot great !!! Not to mention his fit and finish are as good as it gets. As others have said give Mike a call and check. PM me if you need his number. I honestly think at a 32" draw a 62" Black Swamp would work a lot better for you. But that's just my opinion.
My Black Swamp is 62", I draw a shade over 30". As others have said, give him a call.
I'd love to see some strung and unstrung pics
I'd go 62". The Swamp isn't as deflexed as a Thunderchild. I had a 60" for a spell and it performed excellent at 29 and felt like it maxed out about 31. I felt it was most similar in feel and performance to a Centaur.
Yes - talk to Mike - super nice guy and very knowledgeable....

Longtoke, I'll get some posted after I get a "round tuit"
If not Longtoke, I'll have some in a few days when mine shows up! As I understand it, the design has changed somewhat over the years and isn't quite as radical as it once was....but I'd say it still has a fair amount of R/D.
Profile pics for Clay...

Jason,
Just curious what limb woods Mike went with and if you have anymore pics? Hard to beat one of Mike Treadway's longbows.
Curly Ambrosia Maple veneers that I sent him.

That's a beauty Jason !!! I'm looking forward to shooting it.
Jason, now that's a looker....!!!
Here's mine. 62", 38# @ 28". Was shooting for 40# @ 30".
Cocobolo and satinwood riser, bamboo cores, curly Birdseye maple limb veneers.
Mike sure makes a fine bow.

Very sharp looking Black Swamps. :notworthy:
Mike is one of the most personable and honest people in the business.
Ditto what Chad said above, the fact that he makes an awesome bow is just the icing on the cake! I really enjoy talking to Mike and consider him one of the best bowyers that many people have never heard of. His bows are among the top in the industry for overall value...in my opinion.
If Mike had a website, he'd definitely have to hire some employees! A year waiting list with no website is pretty impressive in my book and it has been that way for a long time.
After shooting mine for a couple weeks, I called him and got back on his list. C'mon March '18!
thanks for the pics guys, those are some sweet bows.

Awesome bows. Woodpuppy what's your next one??
64" Black Forest. Cocobolo riser, not set on limbs yet. After seeing the spalted mango veneers posted recently, I may try to locate some of those. The maple is hard to beat though!
I was lucky enough to "steal" a 54" TD LH Black Forest longbow off the classifieds about 10 years back. Shot my best tournament scores with heavy hunting arrows against much longer bows with lightweight arrows. This tournament was a 3 shoot aggregate, consisting of 2 3D shoots and one field archery shoot. One shoot each is in December, January and February. No matter ,rain or shine, snow or ice.
Mike is a very nice guy to talk to and a man of integrity. Normally see him at the Kentucky Trad Fest.
My 60" handled 30" draw no problem.
