Happy Holidays to ALL...
I'm still unwinding from a great DIY deer slam, 4 of which were taken this YEAR... It dawned on me last year that I really only needed the Colombian Blacktail to complete the journey..
10 long , very rainy days in a tree stand with only viewing one buck, I managed to make him mine, I was totally beside my self after throwing a tape on his head gear that revealed him making minimum P&Y... (i would have been tickled with a spike horn ) Hope to add a pic !
Sincerely,
Ray Seelbinder
Way to get it done and welcome to the gang.

Wow, been gone hunting ! Just came back to this great, informative site.... I see a handful of amazing hunters have asked for pics of my deer slam, well here go. I believe I have 4 of the five, missing would be the Sitka black tail, bit of a bear story regarding that pic...
Sincerely,
Ray
Opps , obviously I struggle with technology , guess that's why I shoot a longbow.... Ok ,the Coues deer got deleted and the Mule deer posted twice.. bear with me...
Here's a pic of my Sitka Blacktail, minus hunter...

Missing Coues but haven't hunted them, got the others.
They're not native, but theres the sika in Maryland. Apparently they're a challenge.
Very cool. Did you use same bow and arrow set up's for all them?

. Same ole longbow I built 22 year's ago, but I'm always changing up the arrows, the last harvest was with a 755 grain grizzly Stix , pretty impressed.
Congrats, that is a great accomplishment!!
Best part of retirement is spending a lot of Time in the Woods, sometimes things go your way....
OK, guess I didn't even know there was such a "thing".
That's cool. Buddy in Illinois finished his up a few years ago with his home made recurve.
