What bow do you reach for every morning, whether for hunting, stumping, or for foam and paper?
My N.M. Whisper
NM Whisper does not fit in the available categories in a very specific way. You need to share the slot with all 1 and 2 piece whatevers. It is not a poll that all of us Hill style longbow shooters will respond to very quickly, because we get pretty specific in those matters. The first thing I thought of is that Vesty must not have a Morningstar, a Miller, Schulz or a Sunset, because he had no second toss up question.
Probably my most dependable is my 1966 Browning Explorer (62") 52#. Fast, quiet, and I'm accurate with it.
But for the rest of this year and into the 2018 bow season I will be shooting a 1963-67ish Red Wing Hunter (58") 51# bow. Also fast, also quiet, and I'm almost as accurate with it.
I rotate my stock annually. Last year a RWH 47# was the bow I reached for every day and the year before that a Shakespeare Necadah X-26 46# :archer:
I like one piece bows. I own one three piece (the original three-piece recurve design)
Widow PCH though ironically the limb chipped on my most dependable bow in October when it hit my stand while shooting a buck. If nothing else it's given me time to focus on my ASL shooting, which I'm enjoying immensely.
Currently only one piece bows in my house,
but on the list for a Tall Tines.
Hmmm, what will it be?
My 1971 bear take down.
I have way to many bows......hunted mostly with a Bear T/D this year but my all time go to bow is my 60" River Runner by Chad Holm. It you never shot one you owe it to yourself to try one.
ACS CX 50# @28"
It was my Black Widow PCH, and I guess still is..but with that said I've been shooting my Primal Tech longbow a lot and I'm really enjoying it. For the next month though it'll just be me and Faith, the pass around bow here on Tradgang from Black River. It's a sweet shooter too.
The question should have been, which takedown do you use.
Sarrels Blueridge 3pc takedown longbow for me!!!!
Bisch
Thunderstik MOAB
My Bob Lee The Natural model recurve. I also have a Bob Lee Exotic model recurve, but The Natural is soooooooo sweet, I've actually been thinking about selling my Exotic and getting another The Natural.
Brian
I have a mid 70's Bear Grizzly that just fits. I've had some high dollar customs over the years, but I shoot that ole' thing better than any of em.
Tall Tines recurve
I have just sold everything off except for my widows. For me they feel like an old pair of gloves.
I have a vintage Super Grizzly that shoots as well as any bow I've handled. But I prefer the high riser weight of my Bob Lee recurves. I like the way they settle down arm movement.

My Silvertip recurve.
1970 64" - 41# - WING Gull.
Tall Tines Recurve 60" long riser
Metal ILF riser. Bob Morrison limbs.
Liberty Edge two pc. and my Pronghorn 3pc., they work for me.
Widow T/D (PSA or PCH), or Thunderstick MOAB... They shoot better then I do, but when I do my part I actually hit what I'm looking at...
Widow PLX , always shoot good with that one.
The one in my signature.
My answer is True...
56 in. Groves Mag I 53@28
My next is a ugly 3 pc. T/D made by the guy who made Zona bows back a few years ago, it must of been one of his 1st few bows as the fit finish is what I would call terrible, traded a 700.00 recurve for it, it came with 2 sets of limbs and kid said it was in excellent condition like new:)
In pics couldn't tell, well the bow is ugly as sin but its probably in the top 5 best shooting bows I've ever owned out of a lot of customs. Has good riser weight and hits where Im looking every time. The limbs are supposed to be like 57@28 and 70@28 but 57# limbs show 48@28 on my scale and 70# limbs are closer to 64#.
Beeler Tracker one piece longbow 44# at 25".
If could only have one I'd keep my early 70's Grizzly.
TD PSRX
40@28 with a full length GT entrada 500 spine and 200 up front
Morrison Shawnee's are my favorite.
hill country wildcat is my go to
i have a acs-cx that is giving me fits but still have high hopes it'll come around
Bear Montana
Thunderstick MOAB
My titan with tt limbs for the most part. If I need more performance for heavier arrows etc I'd just pick up the whippenstick recurve.
My 2002 Bob Lee Classic Takedown.
Toss up between Toelke Whip & Great Northern Bushbow
My Hill Country Wildcat static 62" #59@30" super smooth fast and quiet
Bob Lee with longbow limbs had one few years ago that blew up and found another with short riser and long limbs.Have other bows also Bear takedown mag riser and a wood riser that also are great.Kip
The Toelke 68" Super D for me. Although I reckon most bows are more reliable than the shoulders that deal with them.
Out of the three in my signature, this past year/season I have been using the Stalker Coyote FXT the most.
Whatever is in hand-depends on the clown holding it.Some days are certainly better than others for me but I am really liking a 1 piece Mentor-51#@29.
I'm really loving my Caribow Featherhorn 53#
It's my go to bow since I got it
